About Robert Fugate
Robert Fugate has studied art independently since his youth in the 70s and 80s. John Gaddis of the American Society of Watercolor Artists was an important mentor to Robert in his teenage years, and the two traded art lessons for tennis games. Applying the teachings of Gaddis, Robert spent years of daily practice sketching and painting, occasionally selling the works to friends and acquaintances during his teenage and college years. He adopted the Old Master practice of studying great past artists and learning style, perspective, and technique by copying their works. The demands of a business career began to crowd art out of Robert's life during his twenties, but in recent years he has begun re-engaging with his art. This site provides a platform for his work, which often centers on places he has traveled.
Selected original works may be purchased through Scott and Sons Picture Framing, 2310 Marietta Blvd, NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. Others may be purchased through the artist. Contact us for inquiries.
